this is a configurable "transcription tester" tool.
you must enter what you hear correctly and press enter.
if you entered the audio correctly, you proceed.
otherwise the audio replays and you can try again.
you must use at least firefox 70 or a modern chrome for this site to work.

click one of examples here to try:

  1. tscriter#rickroll.txt: rickroll.txt contains a link to an audio file and the timestamped lines that you have to enter.
  2. tscriter#https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ypsu/blog/master/docs/rickroll.txt: same as before but demonstrates that the datafile can be hosted on an external site if that site allows hotlinking.
  3. tscriter#ytrickroll.txt: ytrickroll.txt contains a youtube video identifier so you get a youtube player with this.

you can also simply paste text.
copy the following passage to the clipboard and then just press paste:

dQw4w9WgXcQ
77.25 And if you ask me how I'm feeling
82.25 Don't tell me you're too blind to see
85.25 Never gonna give you up
87.25 Never gonna let you down
89.25

the format is simple: the first line is the audio url or youtube id.
the other lines are "[timestamp in seconds] [text to enter]" in increasing order.
to add a gap, just omit the text part just like the last line above.

btw, when i created this tool, you could paste a youtube link and it will automatically load its subtitle track for tscriting. it was quite fun, especially for music videos. but in a ... let's just say "typical" google fashion, the company removed its easy to use subtitle api in favor of something obscure: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/69937867/google-video-no-longer-able-to-retrieve-captions. whatever, there's no point in playing catch-up with google tech so i won't support that anymore unless someone really nicely asks me.
